It was a proud day for the members, staff, and well-wishers of the Anti-Drug Forum as they celebrated their 10 year anniversary in conjunction with the commemoration of International day against substance abuse and illicit trafficking which also took place on the 26th June 2015 this year. The Event was successfully conducted at the ABH Homes on Friday and was attended by dignitaries, Smart Clubs of schools, Stakeholders, Well-wishers and supporters.
The Program was extremely delightful as the guests were treated to a showcase by the SMART Clubs from various schools that strutted their stuff and their talents. The SMART Club concept proved to be working effectively as the learners performed thought provoking plays, poems, motivational song items and vibrant dances. We witnessed great entertainment while promoting awareness. Some of the SMART Clubs that enthralled the guests with their talents was the Smart Clubs of Montarena Secondary, Evergreen Primary, Moorton Heights Primary, Risecliff Secondary, Kharwastan Secondary, Parklands Primary and Meadowlands Secondary.
Sam Pillay Director of the Anti-Drug Forum said: “It is indeed a great milestone vent for the Anti-Drug Forum to reach ten years, and for its existence against all odds. Our ground breaking models in rehabilitation and education and awareness are finally being recognized. It is very exciting!”
The Anti-Drug Forum Would like to thank all well-wishers, supporters and volunteers for their assistance in the past ten years, it was indeed a challenging ride, however the organization looks forward to the future in striving for a drug free community!
